The Almeria-Chinchilla - Lot I methane pipeline runs for around 128 km with a 42-inch diameter through the Provinces of Almeria and Murcia in a very arid area which has around only 15 days of rain a year. The construction activities related the project started on June 2008 and the completion of the works has been achieved on May 2009 within the contractual deadlines.

The major difficulties faced during the activities belonging mainly for the orographic conditions, undulating route with notable increases in altitude, variants (40% of the total length) and special points making the realisation of these works particularly arduous.
However these, and the challenging construction schedule, the Project were completed within contractual deadlines in compliance with quality and environmental requirements.
